Refuse & Recycling

Refuse and Recycling Services
The Village of Weston provides refuse (garbage) and recycling services to all single-family homes up to 4-unit residential dwellings.

Multi-family residential dwellings (5-units and over), private developments (under one tax parcel), and all commercial properties are required to contract on their own for refuse and recycling services.  Please see the Refuse and Recycling Hauler List for contact information, if you are in need of getting a new refuse and recycling contract in place.

A guide for 2016 refuse and recycling services has been developed, and will be mailed out to the community during the week of January 18, 2016.  This guide explains all the services the Village will offer this year, including spring clean-up, options for yard materials disposal, proper refuse and recycling cart placement, guidelines on "what to" and "what not to" recycle, home composting, disposal of unwanted medications, and much more.

Guide to 2017 Refuse and Recycling Services

Please note to be guaranteed pick up of your refuse and recycling, you must have your carts placed out at the edge of your property by 6:00 a.m. the day of your refuse and recycling collection.  The Village's contracted collector shall not be responsible for carts not placed out at the curbside in time.

Refuse and Recycling Cart Service Needs
If either your refuse or recycling cart needs to be replaced due to damaged parts, please contact Advanced Disposal Services at 715-359-6637, who will then replace your cart free of charge.

Where to place my Refuse and Recycling Carts?

The best placement for your refuse and recycling cart is at either side of your driveway.  If you would like to see some examples of "how to" and "how not to" place your carts, please click on the following:  Example 1  and   Example 2.

Policy on Exceptions to Refuse/Recycling Cart Requirements for 3 and 4-Unit Residential Dwellings

On February 17, 2014, the Village Board of Trustees approved a policy statement, in the form of a Resolution, regarding exceptions in cases of 3 and 4-unit residential dwellings.  Possible exceptions are in the form of a reduction in required carts and/or ability to serve tenants with dumpsters.  To request an exception, please contact Valerie Parker at 715-241-2607 or via e-mail at vparker@westonwi.gov.
