Non-Partisan Offices in the Village of Weston

  • Village President (1) - 2 year term 
  • Village Trustee (6) - 2 year term

Minimum Qualifications

  • United States Citizenship
  • At least 18 years of age 
  • Satisfy residency requirements
  • May not have been convicted of a felony in any court in the United States unless pardoned of the conviction.

Candidate Forms - Getting on the Ballot:

All persons who are running for office as a candidate must file the campaign registration statement, declaration of candidacy, and nomination papers. All documents shall be in the Clerk’s office no later than the first Tuesday in January.  

1.  Campaign Finance Registration Statement

  • Candidates cannot fundraise or insure expenses until after this form has been filed.

2.  Declaration of Candidacy

  • Must be notarized or signed - The Clerk's office can do this.
  • This form is due to the Village Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the deadline for filing nomination papers.

3.  Nomination Papers

  • Circulation begins December 1, 2025.
  • Those who circulate the papers for nomination don't have to live in the district, but must be the following:
    • A U.S. Citizen
    • Over 18 years of age
    • Not otherwise disqualified as an elector in the State of Wisconsin
  • Circulators then certify, sign, and date the nomination paper(s) after they obtain the last signature on the page.
