Construction Updates
Thank you for your patience and cooperation during construction of our Village infrastructure improvement project.
WEEK OF:
August 4
Alderson St south of Schofield Ave will continue to be closed during the week, but will be opened by the weekend of 8/8. Utility work along the corridor will continue along with grading the eastbound lanes.
JULY 28
Alderson St south of Schofield Ave will be closed for sanitary sewer and watermain work. Concrete removal will continue for the rest of the corridor.
JULY 21
Removal of concrete pavement will continue on the eastbound lanes. Sanitary sewer manhole replacement will start between Normandy St and Alderson St.
JULY 14
Traffic will now be moved to the north side of the median on the new asphalt pavement. This week will include breaking and removing the concrete pavement along the southern lanes as well as working on electrical items for the new traffic signals.
JULY 7
Final layer of asphalt paving is expected to be completed early in the week with traffic then being shifted to the new lanes by Friday, 7/11.
JUNE 30
Restoration of the north boulevard continues along with utility adjustments. Final layer of asphalt paving could possibly occur later in the week as well, weather permitting.
JUNE 23
As weather permits, continue paving the first layer of asphalt between Fox St and Birch St in the westbound lanes. Restoration of the north boulevard likely to begin near Normandy and progress east towards Birch along with adjustments of manholes and water valves.
JUNE 16
As weather permits, work on Alderson St north of Schofield Ave will be completed. Road building and paving of the first layer of asphalt on the westbound lanes is scheduled to occur with restoration of the north boulevard likely to start towards the end of the week.
JUNE 9
The north side of the Schofield Ave and Alderson St intersection will be closed to through traffic to complete removals and construction of new water main, signal bases, curb and gutter, and grading.
JUNE 2
Spot curb and gutter will be constructed along with driveways and sidewalk along the corridor between Normandy St and Birch St.
MAY 26
Curb and gutter will begin to be placed between Alderson St and Birch St. Sidewalk removals and driveways will be prepped for new concrete. Utility structure repairs will be completed.
MAY 19
Curb and gutter will begin to be placed between Normandy and Alderson St. East of Alderson road building and median work will continue.
MAY 12
Pavement removal to just east of Birch St was completed. Road building between Normandy St and Alderson St continued. Sewer and water work near Fox St was completed as well.
MAY 5
Pavement removal will continue. Additional water valve replacements will be completed between Normandy St and Alderson St.
APRIL 28
Traffic will be moved to the eastbound lanes with concrete pavement removals to begin starting at Normandy St and proceeding to the east along the westbound lanes. Water valve replacement between Normandy St and Alderson St is expected to begin as well.
APRIL 21
Temporary signal work will continue. Bi-directional traffic control in the eastbound lanes to be installed to get the eastbound lanes ready for 2-way traffic.
APRIL 14
Temporary lane closures will be used for the installation of the temporary signal lights at Alderson, Target/Ace and Birch St.
APRIL 2025:
Contractor plans to begin installing traffic control, erosion control devices, temporary traffic signals, and begin pavement removals along the project corridor.
MARCH 2025:
Haas Sons Inc. is the lowest bidder and the prime contractor awarded the construction contract.
