[ARCHIVED] BE SURE TO KEEP YOUR PIPES WARM

Frozen pipe

Over the past few weeks the Weston Water Utility has been contacted by a number of customers experiencing water outages due to freezing pipes or meters.

With one exception these have been situations where the customers pipes have been exposed to drafts near exterior walls or windows or where the heat in the building has failed.

Customers should make sure their pipes and water meter are in a heated location and not subjected to drafts. As a reminder, it is every customer’s responsibility to assure their meter is properly protected. If interior water lines and/or water meters freeze it is the customer’s responsibility to pay for repairs including the replacement meter.
