The Village of Weston Plan Commission & Community Development Authority (CDA) will be holding a public hearing on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at 6 pm, to consider the adoption of the Community Entryway and Wayfinding Plan, a supplemental element of the Village’s Comprehensive Plan.

Through Volume 2:  Vision and Directions of the Village of Weston Comprehensive Plan, the village advises an intent to “enhance community entryway and wayfinding experience” as part of a broader initiative to “create memorable places and experiences.”  Entryway signs are attention-getting installations at community edges that sometimes include landscaping, lighting, and other features.  Wayfinding signage directs visitors to key public destinations and districts once they have entered the community.  A coordinated, quality entryway and wayfinding program enhances visitor experience and comfort, a sense of place among residents and businesses, and economic growth. A draft Community Entryway and Wayfinding Plan has been created and is now available for public input.

The proposed update is available for review at the Weston Municipal Center, 5500 Schofield Avenue, Weston, WI, and on the Village’s Web page at http://westonwi.gov/DocumentCenter/View/6296/Entryway--Wayfinding-Plan-DRAFT_digital-July-2019. Written comments on the proposed updated documents should be submitted to the Weston Municipal Center (attention Jennifer Higgins), by noon on Friday, August 9, 2019.  All written comments will be forwarded to the Village Plan Commission and Community Development Authority for their consideration, prior to making a recommendation to the Village Board. All interested persons will be given an opportunity to be heard.  Any person planning to attend needing special accommodations in order to participate should call the Village at (715) 359-6114.

Dated this 25th day of July, 2019
