[ARCHIVED] South Area Fire District Training

Fire Training Photo

Training notice:
Who: SAFER & multiple local departments/resources including Law Enforcement & Marathon County Hazmat
What: Mass casualty incident (MCI) training.
Where: Former Kennedy Rehab/ Atrium Post Acute Care @ 6001 Alderson St. Weston, 54476.
When: Sat 9/28/19, starting in the morning around 8, concluding around noon.

SAFER is hosting an MCI drill simulating a chemical release. We are choosing this type of incident as it is what we call a high risk, low frequency event that we want to improve our readiness for. Responding to these types of incidents requires far more resources than we have on hand so multiple departments will be responding to help as they would for an actual incident.

Please avoid the area of Alderson St. & Jelinek St. as there will be an increased amount of emergency vehicle traffic. Also, emergency vehicles will be staging at the D.C.Everest Sr. high parking lot.

No actual hazardous chemicals will be used for this drill so there is no risk of affecting those around the location.

During this exercise, SAFER & neighboring departments will still be responding to any real calls for service that come in.
