On June 1, the Village of Weston Board of Trustees approved a plan to open the Weston Aquatic Center for the 2020 season. The opening plan includes procedures for cleaning the facility, and for staff and patrons to observe, to reduce the risk of COVID transmission by following recommended guidelines. There is much work to be done before opening.
Due to the uncertainties with COVID-19, the Village had been unable to consider opening the Aquatic Center until now so, the state of readiness for opening is a month behind normal schedule. Weston staff is working to prepare the pool for filling. Recruitment and training of guards, normally completed in April and May, can now proceed. An exact opening date has yet to be determined, the best case right now is to open near the end of June.
Also, due to precautions with COVID-19, the Aquatic Center will not be offering swimming lessons, or the sale of season passes this year.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we go through this trying time and we look forward to your patronage of the Weston Aquatic Center. Please continue to follow the Village’s Aquatic Center page and social media sites for further updates.
