Notice of Schofield Avenue name change to DC Everest Boulevard, effective January 1, 2022

Schofield Ave Name Change Image

The Board of Trustees has initiated the renaming of Schofield Avenue to DC Everest Boulevard, effective January 1, 2022. This change has been enacted by Resolution Number 2021-023, passed on August 16, 2021.

This decision has not come without some deliberation. Schofield Avenue, due to its reference to Schofield, has been a source of confusion to residents, businesses, and visitors since Village incorporation some 25 years ago.

That all being said, to ensure prompt emergency response from EMS, all properties currently addressed with a Schofield Avenue street address, will be receiving a new address to reflect this change.  All properties with the Schofield Avenue street address will be (House #) DC Everest Blvd, Weston, WI 54476 effective January 1, 2022.  All address numbers will remain the same. Only the street name is changing. Please also begin using Weston, WI 54476 as your city and zip code instead of Schofield, WI 54476. The Post Office is located in Weston and allows Weston properties to use Weston instead of Schofield. This will help with community identity.

The Marathon County Conservation, Planning and Zoning Department; Marathon County Property Description; Marathon County Sheriff’s Administration; the Schofield/Weston Post Office; SAFER Fire and EMS; and the Everest Metro Police Department will be notified of this address change. Effected properties will need to notify their utilities to ensure proper continued service. A change of address form is not required. The Post Office will automatically make the required changes, so effected properties will continue to receive mail for the new address as normal.

Properties effected, please begin using the new address for your property as of January 1, 2022.  Letters have been sent to all properties along Schofield Avenue.   We feel this effective date will allow ample time for effected properties to notify their customers, friends, relatives, and any creditors that you may have.  If you are a commercial or residential landlord, please notify your tenants about this coming change.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Keith Donner, Village Administrator, at, or Jennifer Higgins, Director Planning & Development, at, or by calling (715) 359-6114, or Village President Mark Maloney at (715) 410-2756.   Thank you for your assistance in remedying this addressing issue. We understand that this change is an inconvenience but hope you understand its need.
