[ARCHIVED] Christmas Tree Collection - Month of January

Christmas Tree Disposal Announcement - cropped

Christmas Tree Collection – Thursdays & Fridays during January

The process for collecting holiday evergreen trees (Christmas Trees) will be a little different this year.  During the month of January, trees will be collected on Thursdays and Fridays, and by a separate truck (not the regular garbage truck).

Trees set out for collection need to be:

*Cut in half (4-feet or less in length),

*Out curbside,

*Not have any decorations on them, and

*Not frozen into the snowbanks or covered with ice and snow.

As the regular route drivers are out emptying containers, they will keep track of properties where trees are set out for collection, and will relay that information to the staff who are going around collecting them on Thursdays and Fridays.  Because of this, it is still good to have your tree set out on your collection days so that the driver can make note of your address.

If it is getting late into the month of January, and your tree has not been picked up yet, please contact Valerie Parker, at 715-241-2607, or vparker@westonwi.gov.  Once January has passed, if you still need to dispose of your tree, you can take it to Marathon County Solid Waste Department (a.k.a. Ringle Landfill), during their office hours.  There is a $10.00 disposal charge for trees.
