Fall Yard Material and Brush Pickup starts October 14, 2024

The fall yard material pickup process starts this coming week. Residents are reminded to keep all yard materials (leaves, grass clippings, pine needles, etc.) in a separate pile from any brush piles for collection. The Village utilizes two leaf vacuum trucks for picking up the leaves and any brush that gets mixed in causes clogging of the vacuum chutes and damages the equipment. This then slows down the pickup process for the Village.

All brush should be kept away from power poles, mailboxes, fire hydrants, etc. to ensure ease of pickup and lower chances of damaging any other infrastructure along the roadway.

The Village staff will make two trips through the Village with the second round starting on October 30, 2024. If staff gets ahead of schedule we will work ahead, but will return on the scheduled day of pickup to account for anyone who is putting their materials out per the schedule. Please note, materials should be out by 7 a.m. on the day of pickup as staff cannot keep returning throughout the day to the same streets as we make our way through the Village.
