This Week!

Village and Town of Weston Spring Bulk-Item Drop-Off Event, held at Waste Management, 5509 Fuller Street, on the following dates:

Thursday, May 15^th, 8am – 4pm
Friday, May 16^th, 8am – 4pm
Saturday, May 17^th, 8am – 2pm

During this event, eligible Village and Town of Weston residents can deliver to Waste Management their unwanted non-metal items, furniture, carpeting, scrap lumber, mattresses, glass windows, etc., free of charge!

Not sure if you are eligible? If you look up the tax bill for your property, on Marathon County Land Records, you will see an itemized line for the refuse/recycling services you pay into. Waste Management staff will be checking for proof of address.

Village and Town of Weston Electronics Recycling Event, held behind the Weston Municipal Center, Saturday, May 17^th, noon – 5pm; only open any Village and Town of Weston Residents. The Village is working with a new electronics collection company, COM2. Through their contracts with WI manufacturers, they are able to offer this FREE electronics recycling event (which includes things like tv’s!).

There is a small list of items that they will not accept as part of this program, which include things like large household appliances, fluorescent bults, batteries, etc.

The Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Board Room. Due to the April 21st resignation of James (Jim) Pinsonneault, there is a vacancy on the Village of Weston Board of Trustees. There will be an agenda item regarding Discussion and/or action on a Candidate to Fill the Trustee Vacancy for the term ending April 19, 2027, at the meeting. This year’s theme, “People, Purpose, Presence,” highlights three cornerstone ideals that motivate public works professionals to serve in their communities every day.

Dine for a Cause. Join us and dine out; 18% of sales will be donated to the Kennedy Park Renovation Project. The Kennedy Park Project is a collaboration between the Village of Weston Parks & Recreation Committee/Department, the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, D.C. Everest Youth Baseball, JV Baseball, Everest Fastpitch, JV Softball, and Everest Youth Hockey. The plans include five baseball/softball fields, hockey rink for outdoor skating, walking paths, concession stand, updated shade areas, playground equipment and green space.

Updates for current roadway projects:

Schofield Ave (Normandy St to Birch St):
- Week of 5/12: The contractor will continue with pavement removals in the westbound lanes (north side of medians) and should finish up by mid-week. Work on storm water inlets and rebuilding the road moving from west to east is scheduled to begin.

- Week of 5/19: Continue with road building in the westbound lanes.

Weston Ave (CR-X to Ryan St):
- Week of 5/12: Work on the Von Kanel Pond and road grading in the Von Kanel intersection along with some ditch work to proceed.

- Week of 5/19: Sanitary sewer work to continue with possibility of water starting as well.

E Jelinek Ave and Von Kanel:
- Week of 5/12: Restoration of ditches and asphalt repairs are scheduled to take place from last year’s work.
