Kennedy Park: The first phase has begun!

The transformation has begun at Kennedy Park! Field #5 (pictured above) is the first to be constructed and Rajek Field will also be completed this summer. If you haven't drove by to see the start of the state-of-the-art, year-round regional recreation hub - we encourage you to check it out! The renovation of the park is an investment in our kids, our community, and the economic vitality of Central Wisconsin. The Friends of Kennedy Park continues to fundraise for the renovation effort - check out another great Dine For a Cause event happening next week at Palms Supper Club - we hope to see you there!

Join Wausau Events for our "Concert OFF the Square" in 2025!

This concert will NOT be held at the 400 Block, but instead held at Kennedy Park in Weston! Food vendors available, with live music by HYDE.

The event is FREE to attend.

Updates for current roadway projects:

Schofield Ave (Normandy St to Birch St):
- Week of 7/14: Traffic will now be on the north side of the median on the new asphalt pavement. This week will include breaking and removing the concrete pavement along the southern lanes as well as working on electrical items for the new traffic signals.

- Week of 7/21: Removal of concrete pavement will continue. Sanitary sewer manhole replacement will start between Normandy St and Alderson St.

Weston Ave (CR-X to Ryan St):
- Week of 7/14: Road building from Von Kanel to Heeren St to continue along with sanitary sewer installation resuming east of Heeren St.

- Week of 7/21: Road building through the Heeren intersection to continue if not finished and sewer work to continue heading east as well.

Fuller St:

- Week of 7/14: Continue to install new storm sewer along Fuller heading north from Rogan Ln along with the below planned water valve and hydrant work.

Monday 7/14: Replacement hydrant on Tricia
Tuesday 7/15: Replace valves at Morning View and Fuller
Wednesday 7/16: Install hydrant at Thomas
Thursday 7/17: New water valves at the Ross and Fuller intersection.

The crew will continue excavating out the pond at Kellyland Park as well.

- Week of 7/21: Continue with storm sewer installation heading north to Ross Ave along with continued excavation of the pond at Kellyland Park.

Asphalt Sealing:
- Work was completed as of 7/11.

Crack Sealing:
- Work was completed as of 7/11.

Shorey Ave Repaving (County Road X to Anastasia Dr): This project is still on hold until work on Weston Ave can be completed through the Heeren intersection.

Heading to the Weston dog park? You may want to take an alternate route with the construction Fuller Street. The best route to take at this time is Ross Avenue to Kellyland Street to Moyer Avenue. Then Fuller Street to Rogan Lane. Thank you for your patience as we make improvements to our roads in the Village of Weston!
